Biography
My journey into the transportation industry began at an early age, thanks to my family’s trucking business, which provided me with a strong mechanical foundation. Alongside that, we restored antique cars and motorcycles—a hands-on experience that deepened my skills and passion for the industry. By the age of 16, I painted my first pickup truck, and at 17, I began working in a body shop, starting with sweeping floors and washing cars.
As my skills developed, I quickly progressed, mastering a variety of repair techniques. Within a decade, I became the lead painter at a large facility, repairing up to 30 vehicles per week. Shortly after, I was promoted to general manager, overseeing operations and ensuring quality service.
In 2005, I embraced a new opportunity as a part-time Auto Body instructor at Columbia College, which ignited a passion for teaching and mentoring. Just two years later, I became a full-time instructor at Modesto Junior College, a role I’ve proudly held for 18 years. The most rewarding part of my career is working with students, helping them grow their skills and better their lives through education and hands-on learning.
I wouldn’t trade this path for anything—it’s been a fulfilling and inspiring journey that continues to shape who I am today.
