Biography

I have worked in hospitality since I was 13 years old. I began as a dishwasher and working my way through nearly every position in the food service side of the Hospitality field. I have an AA in Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management and am working on my BS in Hospitality & Tourism. I have twice been selected Chef of the Year for the Sacramento region; have received the ACF Cutting Edge Award, an ACF Presidential Medallion, the Antonin Carme Medal, and an appreciation medal from the Center for Culinary Arts in Manila, Philippines. I have been involved in Culinary Competition as a competitor and a student team coach.

My hospitality career has taken me places and introduced me to people I never would have dreamt possible. I am a big believer in the power of this career. I have long been a champion for professionalism and respect of our traditions and history. Volunteering with the American Culinary Federation has been my venue to push these agendas. I have served as a hospitality program accreditation team member, a practical exam evaluator and the national chair for ACF Certification.
