Biography
I have been both an Environmental Geologist and an Elementary, Middle, and High School ScienceTeacher during the last 25 years.
My 15 years as an Environmental Geologist allows me to relay real life experiences and enthusiasm to those students that are going into the EarthSciences as well as those students that will be seeking a different career path. As a geologist, I was responsible for starting and managing start-up divisions and offices. These included the environmental geology division, a mapping and surveying division, and the management of a diverse group of services, which included aggregate, wetlands, and agriculture consulting.
I have been involved in teaching college since first teaching Meteorology Laboratory classes while obtaining my Masters Degree. I have been teaching at Columbia Community College since 2005. My courses there are primarily Environmental Geology and Meteorology. I have also taught at several local colleges including Merced College, Chapman University, and CSU Stanislaus. In addition to college classes, I have taught numerous teacher training courses for the San Joaquin Co. Office of Education’s Science and Special Projects Division.
